Privacy Policy
Effective July 1, 2026
Meghan Mary Photography respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or get in touch about a session, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to what we actually need to respond to you and run the site.
NOTE: This policy covers this website only. It does not cover third-party sites we link to, such as our Instagram profile, which have their own privacy practices.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect what you choose to share and a small amount of technical information needed to serve the site:
- Information you send us. When you email us through the “Say Hello” page, we receive your name, email address, and anything you include in your message, such as details about the session you’re interested in.
- Device & usage data. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical information — your IP address, browser type, device, and the pages you visit — to keep the site running securely and reliably.
We do not collect payment information through this website. Session details and payment are arranged directly with you by email.
2. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your information on the following legal bases: your consent (which you may withdraw at any time); our legitimate interests in responding to inquiries and operating the site securely; and, where applicable, taking steps to enter into or perform a contract with you.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to reply to your message and answer questions, discuss and schedule photography sessions, deliver the services you request, and maintain and improve the security and performance of the website.
4. Cookies & Similar Technologies
Our website uses only the cookies and similar technologies needed for basic functionality and to help us understand general site performance. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only with the trusted service providers that help us run this website, and only as needed for them to perform their service:
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery, including server logs described above.
- Sanity — the content platform that stores and delivers the site’s images and text.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights. Our website links to our Instagram profile; anything you do there is governed by Instagram’s own privacy policy.
6. Data Retention
We keep the messages and information you send us for as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain our business records, after which we delete or archive it. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited period as part of normal operations.
7. International Transfers
We are based in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, USA, and the information we collect is processed and stored in the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and handled there.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or limit certain uses. To exercise any of these rights, just email us and we’ll help.
California residents: we do not sell your personal information, and you may request access to or deletion of your information as described above.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it. Photographs of children are only ever taken and used with the consent of a parent or guardian as part of a booked session.
10. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected here.
